High Safety Risks: Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts. Oral ingestion can lead to poisoning, gastrointestinal irritation, liver damage, or allergic reactions. For example, certain oils (like wintergreen oil) contain methyl salicylate, and excessive intake can cause serious health problems.
Insufficient Professional Training: Aromatherapy training primarily focuses on topical (e.g., massage) and inhalation methods.
